Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 July 2026

SeasonSeek ("we", "us", "our") operates a jobs platform that connects people looking for ski-season work with resorts, chalet operators, recruiters and other employers ("recruiters"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we use and share it, and the rights you have. It applies to job seekers, recruiters and visitors to seasonseek.com.

We are the data controller for the personal data described here. If you have any questions, contact us at info@seasonseek.com.

1. The information we collect

Account details. When you register we collect your name, email address and a securely hashed password. Recruiters also provide company and contact details.

Job-seeker profile. To help you find and apply for roles, you can add profile information including your phone number, date of birth, gender, nationality, languages, right-to-work regions, the roles and countries you're interested in, your availability, experience level, and details such as whether you hold a driving licence or passport, plus a short bio.

Documents and media. You can upload one or more CVs, a profile photo, and an optional short intro video of yourself.

Applications. When you apply for a job we record the application and share it with that recruiter — this includes your name, contact details, selected CV, profile photo, any intro video, your cover note, and your answers to the recruiter's screening questions.

Discoverability ("get found"). If you choose to opt in, we make a limited, structured version of your profile searchable by recruiters (see section 4).

Usage and technical data. Like most websites, we collect limited technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you use the site, including through cookies and analytics (see section 7).

2. How and why we use your data (and our legal bases)

  • To provide the service — creating your account, showing relevant jobs, letting you apply, and letting recruiters manage listings and applications. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
  • To deliver your applications to recruiters — sharing your application (including CV, photo, any video, cover note and answers) with the recruiter for the role you applied to. Legal basis: performance of a contract / taking steps at your request.
  • Discoverability and recruiter contact — only if you opt in, making a limited profile searchable and letting recruiters invite you to apply. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Service emails — account, application-status and security messages you need to receive to use the service. Legal basis: performance of a contract / legitimate interests.
  • Marketing and job alerts — only where you've asked for them. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Security, fraud prevention and moderation — keeping the platform safe and enforcing our terms. Legal basis: legitimate interests and legal obligations.
  • Improving the service — analytics and aggregate insights. Legal basis: consent (for analytics cookies) and legitimate interests.

3. Profile photos and intro videos

Your profile photo and optional intro video are personal data about you. They are shown to recruiters as part of your application, and your photo appears in your own account. You are in control: you can change your photo or remove your video at any time from your dashboard. We do not use facial recognition, voice recognition, or any automated biometric identification on your photo or video — they are used only so a recruiter can put a face and a voice to your application.

4. Discoverability and recruiter search ("head-hunt")

By default your profile is private and only shared when you actively apply for a job. If you switch on discoverability, recruiters can search a privacy-minimised version of your profile. In search results and candidate previews they see your first name and the initial of your surname, plus work-related facets (such as roles, languages, right-to-work regions and availability) — not your surname, contact details, photo or video. A recruiter can invite you to apply to a specific live role; only if you choose to apply do they receive your full application. Search facets are limited to job-relevant attributes and never include characteristics such as nationality, gender or age for filtering. You can turn discoverability off at any time in your settings.

5. Who we share your data with

  • Recruiters — when you apply to their role, or (if you opt in) via discoverability as described above. Recruiters are independent controllers of the application data they receive and are responsible for handling it lawfully.
  • Service providers (processors) that operate the platform on our behalf, including our hosting provider, our email provider (SendGrid), and analytics/consent tools (Google Analytics and Cookiebot). They may only use your data on our instructions.
  • External application systems. Some recruiters take applications on their own website or applicant-tracking system. If you choose to apply that way, you leave SeasonSeek and your data is handled under that recruiter's own privacy policy.
  • Legal and safety — where we're required to by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers (for example Google and SendGrid) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to keep the site secure. With your consent, we also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics, via Google Tag Manager) to understand how the site is used and improve it. We manage cookie choices through a consent banner (Cookiebot); you can change your preferences at any time.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we securely delete or anonymise it, except where we need to keep limited records to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Applications you've submitted may be retained by the recruiter you applied to under their own retention policies.

9. Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example marketing or discoverability).

To exercise any of these rights, email info@seasonseek.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), or your local authority in the EU.

10. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including hashed passwords, access controls and encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration or loss.

11. Age and eligibility

SeasonSeek is intended for people who are of legal working age and eligible to work. It is not directed at children. Please do not use the platform if you are under 18.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service evolves or the law changes. We'll post the updated version here and change the "last updated" date above; where changes are significant we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
