Cleaning Assistant and Shift Leader
Reports to:
Management Team (Director, Operations Manager, Finance Manager and Team Co-ordinators)
An Alpine Shine Shift Leader leads a small cleaning team during the winter season, ensuring cleans are completed efficiently, safely, and to Alpine Shine 5* standards. This is a hands-on role that includes cleaning and housekeeping duties, driving the team to and from properties, managing the cleaning set, allocating tasks, checking standards, and reporting issues back to the relevant manager.
The Shift Leader works as an integral part of the cleaning team while supporting the Operations Manager and Operations Coordinators to ensure properties are cleaned, presented, and prepared correctly for guests, owners, and clients.
Team Leadership and Daily Set Management
- Lead and support your cleaning team during each shift.
- Drive the team to and from properties when required.
- Follow the day plan, allocate tasks clearly, keep the team working efficiently and safely.
- Support team members on site, confirm completed jobs, and report any delays, access issues, staffing problems, or concerns promptly.
Cleaning, Housekeeping and Presentation
- Carry out pre-season, changeover, mid-stay, daily and end-of-season cleans in chalets, apartments, and client properties.
- Clean and present all areas to Alpine Shine standards, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, communal spaces, entrances, external areas, fireplaces, beds, towels, and bathroom items.
- Take extra care with sensitive materials & surfaces.
- Complete deep cleaning where required.
- Ensure accurate cleaning reports are sent after each clean.
Quality Control and Property Checks.
- Check the team’s work before leaving each property, ensuring all areas, presentation details, property notes, and client-specific requirements meet Alpine Shine standards.
- Work with the team to correct any missed tasks where possible.
- Ensure the property is secure.
- Report any issues that cannot be resolved on site.
Linen and Laundry
- Manage linen within your set, including sorting, counting, bagging, moving, and checking quantities against property requirements.
- Complete clean and dirty linen counts.
- Report shortages, damages, stains, missing or incorrect items.
- Support collections and drop-offs.
- Keep linen, laundry, and storage areas tidy.
Communication
- Communicate professionally with guests, owners, property contacts, and the Alpine Shine team throughout the day.
- Assist with simple guest queries when required and avoid confirming completion of larger tasks without manager approval.
- Pass on any requests, complaints, delays, access issues, damages, or maintenance concerns promptly.
Stock, Equipment and Health and Safety
- Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
- Keeping kits, vacuums, cloths, mops, supplies, and storage areas organised.
- Report low stock, broken or missing equipment, hazards, accidents, or unsafe working conditions immediately.
- Follow all health and safety guidance when lifting, carrying, driving, using stairs, or working in snowy conditions.
Daily Working Standards
- Arrive on time, prepared for work, and review the day plan, property instructions, access details, and timings before starting.
- Lead the team clearly and professionally, and drive safely where required.

Essential Requirements

- Must have a minimum level of English B2 (spoken, written & reading); other languages are appreciated.
- Must have at least one year of housekeeping experience or an amazing attitude to be trained.
- EU applicants or VISA
-A clean driving license is a must as we do have a few company vehicles.
The package:
- Accommodation at no extra cost for rent (we do require staff to contribute to their share of utilities ).
- 35 hours per week
- Contribution to lift pass, paid out upon completion of contract
- Accrual of 2 holiday days per month
